So I hesitated to give up the brands I knew. But I have a brand and it comes with a brush. And kids always end up straining and scratching books and then they fail. and water doesn't work properly on those. So I wasn't happy. I tried this one and it has markers instead. The nib comes out at the end so I can fill the pen and then the water flows into the nib like markers usually do and that seems to work better for us. We don't push as hard and we don't ruin the pages that way. I find it a little pricey, but it doesn't spoil that quickly. So I take it. And the colors are beautiful and easy to see. This color book also has fewer things to find. To update. While I used to love these markers more, we have a bit of a problem with keeping them wet and full. They almost seal and won't let water out. But if you move a little, the problem is solved. The books are still good.
