I bought this humidifier to use in my brother's guest room. He had an older, larger humidifier that might have worked once right after I got there, but then broke down. I have seasonal allergies all year round and I generally have a hard time breathing in his house when everything is dry and dusty. I grew up with these huge, clunky humidifiers with a big central fan that makes a lot of noise, so I was very excited when I realized that there was such a thing as an "ultrasonic" humidifier these days. my room and it hardly makes a sound! I usually leave this humidifier on all night and it never disturbs my sleep, never leaks and a full tank lasts 3-4 nights of continuous use for about 8 hours each. There is a dial on the front that allows you to increase or decrease the amount of water vapor delivered, allowing you to set the level to your liking. When running on the lowest setting it may not be obvious that the machine is actually running because you can barely see the steam coming out of the top of the spout, but a light next to the front handle means it's working! It really is SO quiet, but trust me, it definitely does its job of humidifying the air wherever you place it. The 2.5 liter tank is perfect for humidifying my bedroom (10ft x 10ft) or it also works in the kitchen, front living room, office space, wherever you are! It's a large tank, but the base is small enough for the machine to fit on my bedside table without getting in the way.
