I bought a second one as a target etc. From the big 6 cup containers everything seems to be sold out. For me, size is very important for my cooking style - making bolognese sauce or chicken curry for a whole week. What I like about glass in general is its sluggishness as I still have plastic containers but I don't like putting hot, greasy and stained foods in it. This jar won't stay yellow forever because I put curry in it once. Finally, Pyrex makes glass very durable that can withstand hot food, microwave, dishwasher and even oven baking. I also love that the silicone-lined lids are waterproof - you can store these things upside down - or, if weight isn't a concern, use them as lunch boxes.
