I bought an AmScope T490B-DKO and upgraded it with an AmScope 20X plan achromat lens and an AmScope A60X 60X achromat lens. I asked Richard (from the Revain community) if 5x would show more magnification than 10x, and yes, technically speaking you see more, but it's a much smaller field of view. I'm assuming the field is 20 percent larger, but half the overall angle. It's like looking through a tunnel. I almost sent it back but kept it for two reasons: big bugs (using 5x4, not 10x4) and those big enlargements (5x60). The shipping cost was $3.42 and it seems like the price went from $31.99 to $42.26 so I decided to keep it. If I had spent more on my microscope I would have gotten 30mm eyepieces and the situation would have been much better. At just 23mm, there's not much to do at the bottom end.
