Great for young children. They require (and develop) critical thinking and spatial skills. I have a 3 year old who sat up straight away and ran over cards 1-16. Now we're moving a little slower because there are fewer directions, but she has no problems - she just takes her time and solves them. There are many different solutions and some of them look like they will work but leave missing shapes for other drawings on the same machine so it's up to the kid to think over what they did and come up with a solution to find. She never gets frustrated in identifying and fixing the problem. The only complaint I have is how slippery the tiles are and how easily they move. The promotional insert in the box advertises a separate pack of "magnetic stickers" for the tiles, which sounds like a lot of torture. I think some of their new products come with magnets and that would probably be worth the investment, especially for small hands.
