Edison lamps are those lamps whose transparent glass envelope clearly shows their inner workings. In the days of Edison the Man, lightbulbs contained a squirrel's nest of glowing wires. In the 21st century, Edison light bulbs were reinvented to include sets of glowing LED strips. Most Edison lamps are available in 2700 Kelvin soft white and 5000 Kelvin daylight white. This Edison bulb produces approximately 800 lumens of light energy. White light sometimes has a slight blue cast. These lamps provide sufficient reading light when a lamp is at hand. These bulbs are best for accent lighting, not task lighting. The exception is that when four or more of these lamps are used in a single fixture, the light emitted is useful in a way unsuitable for single lamp applications. Example I have 4 of these lightbulbs in my guest room/office closet. Four of these bulbs, turned on at full power and working together, flood the dressing room with enough light to perform surgery if desired. Lightbulbs don't break easily as I haven't burned out a single one after over 6 months of use. I have to give these lamps five stars.
