I think this TV ceiling mount will do, but to be honest I expected a better product. I've bought a VIVO wall mount in the past and had good experiences, so I've decided to use their product again. However, this mount definitely does not have the same quality as a product I have previously used for another wall mounted TV in my home. I bought this ceiling mount for a 42" TV that I wanted to hang on a 2x6 open frame in my basement workshop. The height from floor to ceiling is approximately 8.5 to 9 feet. I planned to mount the TV high, near the ceiling, above my desk. My plan was to tilt the TV down a bit so I can get things done on my workbench and in my workshop while watching the TV. However, not trained in this way, this mount will NOT tilt. The photos in the ad show the mount tilting downwards and the manual also shows the mount has a 15 degree swivel function. This is incorrect and should be corrected in your ad. Unless you plan to mount this TV at eye level (which is possible), I would definitely not advise buying this TV. If I had known that tilting the TV like wall mounted TVs is impossible I would not have bought this ceiling mount and would have bought a product from another manufacturer. This product has been rated very well compared to others (not the cheapest but nowhere near the most expensive) but I think you get what you pay for, lesson learned.
