I have 2 open singer/songwriter mics a week and they work very well on our SM58s! I spray the fabric with disinfectant, disinfect the microphone grille, use hand sanitizer, then take a clean filter from the bag and put it on, then repeat for each performer. I did 20 open mics with them. After use, I hand wash them with soap and hot water in the kitchen sink, rinse, pierce and leave in the dishwasher overnight. If they need to dry faster, I drop them on the windowsill, which also helps sterilize. Yes, they leak ink into the sink, so I wouldn't recommend leaving them in a porcelain sink for long periods of time, and they'll fade after a few washes, but in the age of COVID, they're an absolute must-have (imo) for any type of Mic sharing, be it an open mic, karaoke, multiple speakers, etc. I have a filter that is starting to crack and will probably have to be thrown out after next use, but for the price and ease of use these are great. I would highly recommend them and plan to buy more! I've had a few artists thank me for using them, in fact I had a local musician who didn't want to play our open mic until last night until he saw me using them and sanitizing the mic and he decided to get up and play : ) Take care, be healthy!
