Parkas are warm. It's a very thin, very, very thin, light top layer. This is an anorak style jacket, but a very thin jacket, like what everyone calls a jacket, only thinner. It's actually very good as a thin top coat, but there are other issues that spoil this one. First, it's surprisingly large compared to the advertised dimensions. The plus size fits XXL and I swim in it as a medium always wearing a plus size jacket, plus size or even extra plus size. It was huge on me, like a clown costume. Second, the photos in the ad are not true and the color does not match the picture. It's more of an orange-red, orange-brick red, and also lighter than the photos. Given these issues, I can't give more than three stars. However, I really like the material and if they try again, correct the size and take accurate photos with the color, it will be a great thin anorak style jacket. This is NOT a parka, definitely not challenging your imagination, but it's a nice little thin cover-up and they could try again if they correct the size and take accurate photos of the colors available. Size L was XXL so I have no idea how that happened and hope they can fix it. It was marked L but huge for everyone. A friend who tried it on, perfect size XL, said it was oddly loose. A XXL friend who tried it thought it was perfect and kept it. Good luck with your search.
