I've had this scale for two days now and love it. The numbers on the reading display are large and easy to read, whether the display color is blue or red. The tempered glass that the person is standing on is pretty durable. What I like the most is the auto calibration feature on these scales. Other features I like: 1) the ability to toggle between pounds (lb) and kilograms (kg), 2) auto calibration, 3) large display. This scale will not provide accurate measurements if the scale is placed on a carpet. or other soft floor coverings, so make sure there is no carpet or rug on the floor. A hard floor such as a tiled floor, wooden floor, or similar floor is part of the scale calibration system. I don't see that as a disadvantage at all; This is just part of how scales work. Another notable feature is that the scale has memory and records your starting weight, and each time you step on it to weigh yourself, the scale will run for a few seconds and then display your current weight. and then the indicator turns red and shows the difference between your original weight and your current weight. You can track weight gain or loss and it also happens automatically. May 3, 2018: My original purchase was made about two years ago. It worked well. I didn't notice any noticeable deviations when measuring the weight. Since 2018 I have had trouble reading, recognizing and measuring the weight on the scale. I decided to open the back and see how this scale works. All electronic bathroom scales that have flexible instead of rigid pads on the bottom (4 pcs.) work the same way. Each pad sits on top of a G-Force sensor. Sensors are expected to be matched to minimize significant differences in overload measurements. There are several reasons why these devices either won't turn on or don't measure weight accurately. Replace the battery and it works but won't turn back on: Check if the batteries are safe. If they are loose, the spring that presses against the batteries' negative terminal may no longer have enough force to keep the batteries in good contact with each other. Remember to make sure you are using new batteries. Noticeable variations in weight measurement: (1) If the electronic circuitry is not sophisticated enough to compensate for small voltage differences between the sensors, there will be noticeable changes in the weight measurement. There are four; one sensor per foot and one sensor per ball of foot or forefoot. The voltages generated are very small, perhaps in the low millivolt range. All of these floor scales that have the same configuration with four flexible pads on the bottom of the scale work the same way and the problems tend to be the same. There is not enough information on any of these scales to determine the quality and complexity of the electronics when balancing or compensating for differences between G-Force pads to make an informed decision. So make the best decision.
