I have a large working scanner that takes up a lot of desk space. I tucked that underneath and now I have room for other things and the scanner is still available when I need it. Drawers slide in and out easily. They are not very deep but are ideal for various items on the table such as pens, markers, stickers etc. They should work fine with a monitor or printer as long as they are not too heavy.
