My 4K ultra wide monitor can support refresh rates up to 165Hz when using a USB-C to DP cable. However, I am having problems with this cable, so I am trying this HDMI cable. The cable is black and slightly thicker than the other HDMI cable I have. Maybe because this cable supports 8K video? However, my monitor can only display 4K. Another feature of this cable is that it is not braided. Since I've only had this cable for a short time, I don't know if it gets sticky over time and takes on the twilight easily. I have to wait and see. I was hoping to use a 144Hz refresh rate, but unfortunately I could only see up to 100Hz on my monitor. I checked my monitor settings and it only supports HDMI 2.0 and this cable is HDMI 2.1. This could be why I didn't see 144Hz. I also noticed that the ports are bigger too. If the back of your monitor is narrow, it may not fit. So be sure to look before you buy. I have no problem with my monitor but it is very narrow in the back due to the large/long HDMI port. Overall I am happy with the quality of this cable and its performance. Refresh rate may be my monitor's problem, not this cable's.
