before I bought a phone cord that was too long. I wanted something to use when I'm at my desk and I hung the previous one everywhere. I intentionally chose the shortest cord I could find since my phone is about 2-3 feet from my head when I'm at my desk. I only had it a few weeks. It works. No problem. However, it is almost too short. It's twisted pretty tight, so if I stretch it long enough to reach it, it actually bounces off my head. I often type at the same time as I speak so that the letter I receive is hidden between my ear and shoulder and I find myself missing the phone. It will get better with time and will be fine soon. Just don't think of it like a 6 foot phone cord. Stretched to 6 feet, it will have a lot of tension. Practically speaking, you'll get about 3 inches of it. It's a short cord but perfect when your phone is on your desk and you want to keep clutter to a minimum.
