It really works! for photo and video kits

How many people have I made more video calls since the pandemic started. and a situation that comes up frequently is video calling with people who are multitasking - like chatting while cooking or doing housework. and it's usually a game that requires you to keep moving your phone to try and keep yourself in frame. I have a webcam from OBSBOT and am familiar with the tracking features and was very happy with it so I was very interested in trying this phone mount to see if it worked as well as the webcam. This item comes in a box. nice retail packaging with a full color image on the front but I don't think the packaging really explains what the product even is. So if it's a gift, it may not be clear what it does until the recipient picks it up and starts finding out. When I opened the box I was surprised and delighted to see a very nice tote bag. On the outside it has a leather look, is stiff and therefore offers some protection, zips up and has a rubberized carrying handle. I wasn't expecting such a pretty case and thought it was just a small cloth pouch so that was great to see. Opening the carrying case reveals a collapsed phone mount and separate mini tripod. The powered phone mount folds out easily, and there's a standard sized tripod mount underneath, which is fantastic as you can mount it on any standard tripod, not just the tiny one that comes with it. The mini tripod is small and pretty basic, the legs open up and that's it, no extra height or anything. Once everything is set up, it's pretty clear that it's designed to sit on a desk, stand, desk or something. The actual powered phone mount is lightweight as it has a camera and battery. I mounted the case with everything (mini tripod, phone mount with power supply, charging cable) on the scale and it weighed about 0.98 lbs or 0.46 kg so tossing it in a bag is no small feat. and leave it unnoticed. It's pretty easy to work with. You place your phone in the phone holder and press the power button to turn it on. You can press the button to fix it on the target person or use gesture controls. To be honest it works great and tracks me very well in normal lighting conditions. The active part of the device simply rotates left or right, not up and down. So when you switch from sitting to standing you might find yourself moving out of frame depending on how close you are to the camera. The phone mount has an easy adjustment to tilt the phone up or down. I've found it works well enough for all my use cases. What I like: - Doesn't require any apps on your phone (a lot of these devices are made by weird companies that have questionable apps in my experience), it just moves your phone based on its own camera and doesn't require any additional features, you don't have to Worrying about the company going bankrupt and not updating the app in the future etc - Tracks work perfectly and seem to work from every angle I can see myself with the phone's camera - Gesture controls - Very high quality carry case - Can be used with any tripod. The only downside is that it's a bit heavy and doesn't automatically rotate the phone up and down (left and right only), but for general use I don't find it bad. That works great.
