OMG - watch your fingers. Instead of using it in the garden, I bought this material to attach to the edge of my new couch so my house cats don't use it as a scratching post. It was easy to assemble with upholstery pins and worked great. Maybe too good - I had to be careful while sitting that my feet didn't touch the 'dots'. I've also cut it to fit the backs of some new dining chairs, albeit with less success. Plastic doesn't bend well around corners, so cats could find space between the scat mat strips to scratch. I think if I had problems in the garden this would be an amazing product. This is hard work; I trimmed it with kitchen scissors, but it's thick enough that trimming isn't a quick process (more like one link at a time). I highly recommend it.
