Review on 🧡 Sew Me! Sewing Basics: Beginner-Friendly Techniques & Projects, Easy-to-Follow Directions for First-Time Sewers, from Seams to Zippers by Summer Hendricks

Great book for beginners - solid basics, great introductory projects, NOT overwhelming

I bought this book for my granddaughter as her 'first' sewing book. I like the balance between teaching the basics and good introductory projects that don't make sewing easy for kids. Clear pictures, good instructions and easy reading. After looking through several sewing books I figured this would be best for a beginner but not too difficult. Anyone can do this, learn the basics and start with simple (but fun) projects and feel like you've accomplished a lot in a short amount of time. Projects start with and build on basic skills (your first stitch) and are suitable for children but not teenagers. However, the book focuses more on girls than gender-agnostics. The book also promotes self-confidence; I love the sections on error handling, security, etc. By working through this book, someone will have a basic set of skills that will enable them to create much more complex projects.
