Review on 🌪️ Spearhead THUNDER 22-Inch + 20-Inch Hybrid Wiper Blades with Neoprene Infused Rubber - Outwiping Silicone (Pair) by Michael Tran

My search for wipers is over!

I have a 2001 Toyota RAV-4 (first owner) that is sitting outside as my garage is full of junk so the elements are hitting my wipers hard. Hot southern summers, cold winters with ice and snow, trees over my driveway that shed weird sticky residue (no sap) when it rains aren't helping. Since I work from home, I don't drive as much as I used to, so I try to change my wipers a lot less often than recommended. For example every few years, more or less, or when the streaks and scratches become unbearable. And it's been hard to find wipers that don't scrape or scratch right away, even some of the more expensive brands have been a real disappointment. A friend of mine recommended silicone wiper blades, but after reading some reviews and seeing the prices, I wasn't sure if they would be a good choice. Step onto the blades of Spearhead Thunder! The reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, and while most people have just installed them, they haven't yet vouched for their durability, so I took a chance. The kit was about the same price as another cheap brand of squeegee I used so I figured if they didn't work I wouldn't lose a lot of money. Instant impression: SUPER easy to install, even on my badly weathered and worn out old windshield wipers. They slid with a click and a sense of security (the old ones were barely attached when I took them off! A strong gust of wind would probably blow them right off the car!) Leaves can get caught. Later, while washing the car, I turned on the wipers and was amazed at how QUIET they were. There was literally no sound even when there was no more water on the windshield. Not a single lane remained. At freeway speeds, their movement upwind generated no lift. I showed it to my friend who is a fan of silicone blades and he was very impressed. In fact, he now gets a set of Thunderblades for his car! If they stand up to our southern seasons, ugly tree droppings, and basic neglect and still perform better than my regular squeegees, then I'll be a customer for life!

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
