Haven't taken this on a trip yet but did a test run by filling it with toiletries. I usually travel with emergencies, so I used to have a three-compartment holdall that held most of my toiletries, plus a large plastic bag of other essentials, and separate cosmetic bags. (I know I sound like a very demanding girl, but I like to be prepared!) Getting ready in the morning was a real headache laying out and/or searching for everything on the bathroom countertop needed what i needed . Granted, I've reduced my carry (by using smaller travel containers), but everything seems to fit in the compartments of this bag. So I look forward to just hanging up my bag and getting what I need, when I need it. Seems a much more efficient way to travel and pack in the morning! So why not 5 stars? The only possible issue I see with this is the hangar hook that snaps into the side of the bag. The manufacturer probably thought it was less likely to fail, but what if the hotel doesn't have a hook and I need to hang it on a towel rail. It does not rotate, so hanging is very inconvenient! If it could rotate it would make this bag perfect! UPDATE 5/26/2021 I have taken it on several trips here and Europe and WOW it has made my life so much easier. Rather than having various toiletries and makeup bags, EVERYTHING is in one convenient place and the hanging hook worked pretty well too. I leave most of my stuff in my tote bag so all I have to do is do my makeup before the trip and I'm ready to go. I just love convenience!
