They look like a plastic toy ring. Both top edges of the ring are quite sharp. I noticed it mostly when my hand was clenched, but my partner said her hand was biting adjacent fingers all the time. We used a ring gauge to order the correct size. When we first tried them we thought they shipped the wrong size - they come off a lot easier than the size rings. But the caliper says they're right, actually 2 or 3 thousandths under the caliber and rounded up to the nearest thousandth. The sensor has 2mm wide metal rings and we bought 6mm wide rings which should generally offer a tighter fit than 2mm rather than loosening. It must be because of the curved and polished inside of the rings that they slip off so easily. If you order this (or a ring with this design) I would suggest going half a size smaller than what you normally wear.
