The quality of this air purifier is decent but not top notch. There are better alternatives in the same price range. The product page says it has an "automatic" mode, and the product page also says it has a laser sensor to detect air quality. Every other air purifier I have that advertises air quality measurement and has an "auto" mode that continuously measures air quality and automatically adjusts fan speed accordingly. When the air in your house is good, it runs at a low speed that you can't hear. If the air quality deteriorates for any reason (e.g. smoke from cooking), the fan speed will automatically increase until the air is clean again and then quiet again. Unfortunately, I can't find any evidence that there actually is an air quality sensor. Even if there is an air quality sensor, why? There is no "Auto" mode, so the sensor would be pretty much useless. This air purifier works well, but the controls are very primitive. You choose the fan speed manually and it stays that way until the set timer expires or you manually change it to a different speed or turn it off. This product is great if that's what you want, but now that I've experienced high tech air purifiers that actually have an "automatic" mode, I've decided to put the air purifier in automatic mode and just use it to have work done. Thing based on air quality is the best choice. I was very disappointed that this product did not have a feature that appeared to be in the product information. With a legitimate auto mode, this purifier would be a decent value, but with very basic functionality, it feels overpriced.
