I bought this to sit in my van while loading and unloading my motorized wheelchair. I am disabled and it is very difficult for me to stand or walk. There is an elevator in the back of my van that extends, then lowers to the ground, then returns. It's unbearably slow, especially when the chair is weighted backwards, the chair weighs 175 pounds and the motors are very slow. I found it almost impossible to stand in the back of the van driving the elevator and tried to sit on my cane but it was very unsafe and uncomfortable. I was also afraid that the stick would bend and hurt me because it's just a thin aluminum tube. But this thing is a big help! I saw a review from a very tall man praising it and it won me over. I can now SIT while going through the excruciatingly slow process of loading and unloading my chair and all the cumbersome gadgets and the like. van and use a stick to push me into the van so I am extremely stable and unlikely to fall. It's in the back of my chair and I take it as needed. But if I need to take it somewhere else, I can always fold it up and attach it to my chair with the included clip.
