I need to make an adjustable strap for my daughter's sleeping bag. These D-rings fit perfectly on my 1" webbing (which I also bought from Country Brook Design). How to Make an Adjustable Strap: Measure the circumference of the bag you want to tie. Cut the measurement at the strap and add an additional 8 inches. . Cut out two strips. Using a gas torch (or lighter), gently melt the tails at each end of the web so it doesn't unravel. Thread TWO D-rings through one end and fold over 2 inches of webbing. Sew along the rectangular bar, ending with two straight lines sewn diagonally forming an "X" mark. Make two. When finished, wrap each strap around the sleeping bag, thread the end through both D-rings, flip and thread through the first D-ring, tighten. Do the same for the other strap. If you tie both straps tight enough, you can also create a handle by tying the two loose ends together. (Of course, don't make it too tight or you won't be able to undo it later when you need to open your sleeping bag.) This project was also easy and economical.
