Review on ๐Ÿš SYMA X1 Quadcopter UFO - 4 Channel 2.4G RC Drone by Don Devine

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This quad gets rave reviews from those who work and people who can figure out how to sync the controller.

However, this quad has a higher than normal scrap rate and also LOTS of returns due to a poor owner's manual. OVERVIEW: First, let me say that there is no information in the manual. HOW TO SYNCHRONIZE THE CONTROLLER. The manual is not very clear how to bind the transmitter to quad.A. Insert the battery into the aircraft and place it on a flat surface to calibrate level flight and leave it there until the aircraft LED flashes rapidly. After you see the aircraft flash rapidly, turn on the transmitter and watch the LED flash for a few seconds. C. Take the left control stick and push it all the way down, then quickly lower it to zero. The LED on the controller should now be solid, as should the LED on the quad. It must be ready to fly! Enjoy! Now that all of the above is done. Let me tell you something about the quad. There are many people on YouTube who are in awe of this little guy, and rightly so! It takes a little time to learn how to fly it. Low and High Settings: Low or "L" will make it difficult for you to fly this outside in any wind. At level "H" or "High" you will be able to fly with it without any problems. First try learning how to hover and fly in L mode in a large room. Learn how to hover and move the quad within say 5 feet in diameter. Learn all the controls, then take them outside. Cons: They make them cheap (they sell for around $35) and there are some quality issues. This is less of a toy for non-tech savvy kids or adults for quality reasons. .However, since there are some quality issues since they assemble them cheaply, if you don't want to look at the board or know how to solder, you're stuck! Check out the WLtoys 9X9 series. MY USE: I ordered an 808 #16 camera to mount and use as a video platform. In the future I intend to switch to one of the larger quads like the Horizon Hobby 350qx or the DJI Phantom. , and two HobbyZone Firebird II electric airplanes. I really enjoyed flying the Firebird II 2 channel airplane. I really liked these electric planes and it got me outside. MY CONCLUSION: I am very satisfied with it. Despite the quality defects (cold soldering), it works quite well. I find the toy to be quite advanced for the money (3-axis stabilization, motors turn off when binding to avoid getting burned, and replacement parts are pretty cheap) Hope this helps! UPDATE TWO DAYS AFTER OWNING THE ATV. In just two days and about 5 flights I learned how to hover this quadcopter outside in light winds (let's say 5mph gusts) and keep it fairly steady, maybe a 15ft x 10ft rectangle which makes me happy. Impulses are the most difficult to manage because they are constantly changing. I've learned to fairly easily orient the quad in the direction I want to use so I know which controls to press. When the battery dies in an ATV, it slows down. Propeller and landed, UPDATE AFTER ONE WEEK OWNED; Honestly I had to go back and deduct two stars from the rating. Thing is great as long as it works, but if it breaks after a week like mine did, you'll wonder if you have enough thin soldering iron tip to fix it. You can get replacement parts for this pretty cheap controller board for $9 and motors for $2.25 each. UPDATE IN ONE MONTH. I ordered 4 new motors and a control board from Banggood. I replaced the dead engine and the ATV flies and hangs like new again. Now I can hover at any engine speed without using my hands. I have 3 more motors and a control board so I can run it for a while. I think I'll just leave it. After everything I've done, I'm a little attached to him now. I made a special tote bag for it and everything fits right in so I can use it to travel to my destination. Hiking in Snowy Maryland" on YouTube. Mark :)
