I used this stencil to create a diamond plate effect on the bottom half of the walls in a small bathroom in a new caveman garage. We bought the real thing from Lowe's and decided that the price of $34 each for tins only about 36" x 36" wasn't worth it. The whole room would cost several hundred dollars. And as much as I love lugging it into the garage and throwing myself away for a few hours, it's not worth that much! That's when we decided that artificial grass paint on the walls could achieve the diamond plate effect if we had the right stencil. Revan to the rescue! I ordered a stencil and received it in a few days. It cost a little more when I was willing to pay $22. But the price is still higher than Low's for the original. And it was well packaged with no risk of creases or damage. I wish the stencil was bigger because I'm not sure such a small stencil is meant for a whole room full of paintings. But I stayed with him and only finished the room yesterday. The stencil has the words "Solvent". Although I used latex paint that doesn't require solvent, I can vouch for the durability of the stencil. At the end of each work session, I cleaned the dried paint off the stencil with warm soapy water and a wire brush, and the stencil remained fully intact without affecting the detail of each cut. I had a little trouble aligning the end of the last pattern with the beginning of the next section. You will notice in the template image that the bottom two rows are diamond cut halves. A row of half would be enough to coincide with the start of the next section of template if that's why they did it. I usually find little cutouts in the form of dots on stencils, showing where to line up the next part of the pattern. But that's the only problem I had with this stencil. I would recommend this stencil as I really haven't seen anything like it anywhere else.
