I needed this item for a mallet injury on my middle finger - these splints have worked well - my doctor actually asked if I could have them custom made. So here are some thoughts on the product and some usage tips after using it for around 4 weeks: - It's nice to get this big pack as you have 4 of each type of split although you will probably only need one size. - Better yet a pack of 20, you get lots of extra Velcro strips - I found that if I did anything that smeared the strips or did manual work with the splint, the stirrups wore out quickly so the extra materials were a lot important. I highly recommend putting some kind of bandage on your finger. I used a piece of 3M Coban on top of the pin under the rail. Allow for wider fingers, but the edges of this gap dug into the top of my finger to the point where I had to periodically remove the splint to get some relief - adding a piece of coban made the splint MUCH more comfortable. I also recommend using sandpaper or a file to remove the sharp edge of this gap. It was personal, but I also found that a small piece of Coban film applied directly to my fingertip reduced the numbness I felt on my fingertip after wearing a splint for several hours. - Use in the water - they're pretty hard to lose when you're waterskiing or doing the dishes - I would recommend putting on a coban splint or other sheeting instead of velcro and putting medical tape over the tape. what -- If you need to do yard work or other activities that will get you dirty and/or apply velcro strips, wear a pair of work gloves - a glove will help keep the tire in place and better protect the velcro. from wear and tear. Overall it is very good value for money and the product works well. I'm only deducting one star because the sharp lines of the injection mold cavity should be more rounded at the edge of this gap, but otherwise a very good product and you can easily make this adjustment yourself.
