So among the many downsides to the whole COVID situation is that wearing masks is leading to an increase in eye problems - styes, chalazions, general irritation - presumably due to the way how the exhaled air flows over the face or what? Anyway, for the first time in my life I have a chalazion, which is a blockage of the gland in the eyelash. Apparently there are glands in the eyelashes, which was new to me. You can get blocked and you'll end up with a swollen bump, and that's no fun. Anyway it works! I opened the package and immediately the pads started to heat up. I used simple foldable ear loops, put a compress over my eyes and really fell asleep ha ha! So comforting! Woke up and more than half an hour passed and they were still warm. Took the eye mask off and in fact it was a bit wet/moist around the eyes. I just started the protocol so not sure how good it is for my chalazion problem but it was definitely easier than standing over the sink for fifteen minutes. by rewetting the cloth. This is something I can do very easily and amazingly before my eyes at the beginning and end of the day, before and after work. Even my tired eyes looked so much better, so what about that? The only issue for me is that they can be a bit wider apart and the fit isn't great, but they produce enough moist warmth that my eyes definitely feel warm. and warm despite the position, and it was a far longer sustained, sustained heat than any washcloth attempt. And no mess - just sit back, enjoy and throw away at the end. I would happily continue using them once my eye problems have disappeared - an extremely enjoyable experience!
