Review on BPA-Free PEVA Hydration Pack Bladder - WACOOL 2L/2Liter/70Oz Or 3L/3Liter/100Oz Capacity, Leakproof Water Reservoir by Darren Boogie

So long as you don't mind the leaking.

I tried to return this product but since i didn't have it anymore, i couldn't get a refund. I figured i could at least write a review to warn others. I bought this for a 4 day trek to machu picchu. Obviously having water was very important in this situation. I tested it twice at home by filling it with water to make sure there were no leaks since i had read a few reviews mentioning water leaks from this pack. Satisfied that it was not leaking, i packed it up and the morning of my trek i filled it up and put it in a special compartment in my hiking pack and hopped on the train. By the time i arrived at the beginning of the km marker of the trek, i noticed my back was soaked. I took off my backpack only to realize to my absolute horror that the reservoir was leaking at a steady pace from the spigot. I tried to salvage the situation by drinking all 2L of water as quickly as possible over the next couple hours (which is not a pleasant task), while my backside continued to get soaked. Needless to say, i had to throw it away, find alternative methods to collect water over the next 4 days and finally, accept the fact that i wouldn't even be able to get my money back on this poorly made, unreliable product, because i threw it away rather than carrying around trash for the next few weeks of travel.

Pros
  • 2L capacity is great for shorter hikes
Cons
  • The bladder can be difficult to dry out completely after cleaning
