Such a smart and beautifully designed set. I like the clean lines, the cleverly placed handles on the chairs and table making them easy to manoeuvre. After I gave it to my 15-month-old son, he immediately climbed into the chairs and settled comfortably at the desk. He also easily climbed onto the table, which was both fun and a little scary, but made it even more fun. After all, he is an active toddler and tends to climb on everything and everyone. I love that the chairs have two tiers of seating and the table can be used as an inverted U-shaped table as well as a ledge table AND a bench! The neutral light finish complements my son's furniture and fits in with the Montessori decor we're getting into. Now for the not so good ones. As already mentioned, the workmanship is anything but perfect. My set arrived with a few deep scratches, dents and damaged surfaces. Yes, I know this is toddler furniture so I honestly don't expect his furniture to remain pristine, but it's certainly not asking too much for it to come out of the box brand new and in perfect condition. . While I don't think this set was used, it looked like it had been lovingly used by an active toddler. The box looked shabby too, with the severed ribbon over the old one. Maybe it was a return or an exchange? Or maybe badly packaged or processed by the manufacturer? I will never know While not enough to justify the hassle of an exchange, I'm deducting two stars because it's a real shame to pay more for a set that doesn't look new out of the box. Overall I would still recommend this set as it is beautiful and practical but I will be contacting the manufacturer to express my disappointment with the condition upon arrival.
