Review on πŸ•οΈ ALPS Mountaineering Rendezvous Chair: Comfort and Durability for Outdoor Adventures by Travis Carter

The front bars were a problem

The chair felt solid but was a little heavier than it should be due to the steel frame, although I think it's exposed to less wind than if it were aluminum. The weight wasn't an issue as I bought it for the beach and concerts/movies in the park, not hiking, but I thought it was worth mentioning. The fabric, stitching, and mesh also felt durable. I bought a khaki color which I figured would wear less over time. Although I'm decently built, I get mine back when the front crossbars press against the front of the seat when I'm seated with my legs stretched out. I'm fit 6ft 2in and 220lb with thick legs so your experience may vary. With legs stretched out (like I would probably be at the beach) this results in about 1/2 of the seat (1/4 to the left and 1/4 to the right) making hard contact with these bars. After a few minutes it becomes uncomfortable and cuts off the circulation in my legs. The only relief is sitting with my knees bent so my hips don't have as much contact with the seat. In general, not being able to straighten my legs is kind of limiting, like a camp chair. It might not have been a problem then. If you are smaller, slimmer or lighter, this might not be a problem for you. It seems that most of these camping chairs use the same frame designs. , but I've seen one here at Revain that seems to have solved that problem, but is currently available in an unattractive light blue. ding Easy Fold Beach Chair with Cup Holder Pocket Mesh Back and Armrest Blue I have to give it 2 stars as I can't justify keeping it to myself.
