Not bad for the price but could use some improvements.

I urgently needed a new hammock for a short night hike. This hammock seemed to have the qualities I was looking for at an affordable price and arrived before I needed it. I put it up in my yard so I could familiarize myself with it before taking it on the trail. What I like: Installation was quick and "fairly" painless. The level of comfort was affordable for a 5ft 10in man weighing 200lbs. There were no obvious defects in the seams. What I didn't like: As mentioned in other reviews, the metal buckles on both straps were placed backwards. An easy fix for me is to just remove the strap and reattach it in the correct position. It would have been more painful trying to do this in the dark. The fabric and wood straps stretched more than I expected. I had to hang it up almost 3 feet high so it doesn't touch the ground. This was even after I pulled hard on the suspension straps. The hammock itself almost encapsulates me due to the stretch. The bug net seems to work well, but with the hammock almost swallowing you, most of the screen isn't used. The bungee cord to keep them off your face works, but it's just elastic cord wrapped in thread. The thread showed fraying after the first hanging and I don't expect this to last very long but it will be q easy to replace. Rain protection was difficult to teach. I would expect the rain to pool in the middle and drip down to little more than a light rain. Finally, Recommended Improvements: Better bug screen elastic band, better rain cover design or middle loop for middle lifting, better storage bag. (It was easy to repack, keeping it tight enough to make good use of space but loose enough to make repacking quick.) What worries me, however, is that I'm afraid it might snap easily on a small Hook could snap while it's on The Path. My final recommendation would be to maybe use a double loop system on the ends so it doesn't close when busy. Those issues aside, I'll be monitoring performance overnight.
