Absolute savior! My child likes to sleep on the edge of the bed. I have no idea why either. That being said, we've had a few falls, none of which required a trip to the ER or stitches. However, all of this can be intimidating to say the least. I researched countless splints and finally settled on this one. I'm glad I did this because it provides the security we need. A few important tips for potential buyers. You must secure the handrails with the straps provided, without which I promise your child will fall unless you secure them in some other way. This is not a full-length queen-size mattress, so keep that in mind if your child likes to sleep. Finally, the strap can be a bit tricky, so make sure it's clipped onto the rail and securely fastened at the other end. The inconvenience may cause your child to fall along with the railing or between the bed and the railing, which is very dangerous! And that's why I didn't give it 5 stars, because a reliable strap needs constant verification and validation. The rest is great stuff. I love that I can give my daughter the extra protection she needs and when she's not in bed I can fold it up so it doesn't irritate her eyes. I am very happy with my purchase and would buy again.
