Review on πŸ”΅ Ultralight Blueberry Deuter Airlite 26 Backpack by Jessica Williams

Beautiful but could be better

This brand was recommended to me because I'm short and Deuter makes smaller packs. This is due to the "Air Conditioning" feature, which is a piece of metal behind the mesh at the back that keeps the pack off your back to keep you cooler. I recently wore it on a 8km hike through steep terrain. When I got halfway up the trail my neck was already killing me. I have a very small chest with sloping shoulders and a 17 inch torso length, so getting a comfortable bag is an ordeal. At that moment I realized that the "air conditioner" was removable, so I took it off. I hope this makes it more comfortable as the backpack seems to come off your back and may put strain on your neck. I couldn't tell as I was in so much pain at the time that I was still in pain after the removal. I had high hopes for this package. Space is sufficient for me, but could be more pockets. It has no organizational features, just a large main compartment and a small zip pocket on top. It does have front storage, but it doesn't close, so it's limited. The side water bottle pockets are nice and the bottom pocket has a raincoat which is handy. I hope next hike it will be more comfortable without the metal piece on the back but it needs a shoulder adjustment like the Osprey backpacks, I think they fit better.

Pros
  • Lightweight backpack specially designed for the female figure.
Cons
  • A few small things
