Buy with caution despite lower price than OEM. The ones offered by Epson cost $300, so this alternative is very attractive. My OEM lasted 1660 hours so I bought it as a replacement. I bought two of these lamps within 2 weeks and have had mixed results. They have the same good brightness as the OEM but have a few downsides. One of the two I bought exploded; literally exploded and made a loud POP noise and died after 23 hours. Lamp #1 arrived and worked fine out of the box, but there was a gray streak in the projected image. The gray line was more visible in dark images, but it was less visible in light images. This gradually disappeared, but I decided to buy a replacement, since even for universal lamps these bulbs are not cheap and I want one that does not spoil the picture. There is also a sustained faint faint beep that sounds for 1 second with a 2 second pause and then again. It's not a bad thing when you're watching something with sound, but it's obvious in a quiet room. After running lamp #1 for 19 hours, I started using lamp #2. The second worked flawlessly for 23 hours. I watched a movie and several hours of TV in one day before turning off the projector. When it turned off I heard a loud bang and decided the bulb had burned out. As I removed the bulb, I heard a loud rattle and tiny pieces of loose glass fell out of the case. In the attached picture, tiny microparticles of glass were floating around the bulb, some of which fell onto my counter as tiny specks. As I didn't return bulb #1 I reinstalled it and am using it now until I decide if I want to get a third bulb or just bite the bullet and get an OEM from Epson. Pros: As bright as OEM. does not affect the image quality. Much cheaper than $300 OEM. The body and everything is the same as the OEM except for the lightbulb. "EPSON" was engraved on the outside of the original lamp. Cons: It may take 30 seconds longer to warm up than the original lamp. The image is very dark at first, but then brightens up. The projector emits a weak beep. When I googled it, this is a common problem with non-OEM bulbs. The noise is low so I can deal with that, but be aware that it comes in different qualities. I placed the first lightbulb on the picture with a gray stripe. The second exploded 23 hours later. Thank goodness for Revain's return policy. I am returning the #2 blown bulb and am considering whether to buy a 3rd bulb to replace the #1 bulb or just go with the OEM. I am using lamp #1 now at 20 hours and believe it will be updated in 30 days. Update 8/1/2018: I continue to use bulb #1 and now have about 126 hours. It takes 30 seconds to 1 minute from turning on the projector until the image is almost completely bright. Support exists, I contacted and they offered to replace the faulty bulb (#2) and they mailed me a replacement. This lasted a couple of weeks, so schedule a backup in case you run into problems and need the manufacturer to replace a failed bulb. I'll keep one as a backup while continuing to use bulb #1.
