I was expecting a very cheap plastic construction. In fact, the case itself is a smooth matte finish. And when I opened it, I found two large rectangular mirrors. The light itself is an illuminated satin translucent plastic diffuser that continuously rotates around the mirror at 100% scale. In the "lid" and the top half of the can is a mirror with 3x magnification. It looks like all the electronics are housed in the other half of the case along with the lighting system along with a 100% mirror. Pay attention to the function of the touch switch for light and charging ... the instructions are not described in detail. To turn on and off, I found touching the center of the light icon controlled on-off. To dim and then increase the light intensity, the short instruction was "HOLD DOWN" on the switch. However, sometimes I was able to turn on the dimmer by touching it directly over the icon ring area. While charging, the LED next to the USB-C port will glow RED. When fully charged, the LED will turn off. I couldn't find this information in the manual either. The fact that the mirror uses a USB-C port for charging made me think it was a "next-gen" device, which is a good thing. And as for the light switch; This is the touch area circle at the bottom of the 100% mirror. And contrary to other comments, the mirror I received worked as expected with no issues. I gave it a few cycles while charging as it will be a gift for one of our granddaughters. For the price it would be a nice gift.
