My husband and I got this as a Christmas present for my mother-in-law to honor her as a grandmother. We were very happy about it. until we get it. Pros: It's gorgeous - super shiny. The magnet is strong. You can choose which face you want to use (the one with the engraved words around the face or the side with rhinestones). The tree inside is double sided so it can be displayed whichever face you choose. You can choose between hearts or round birthstones - you will receive two full sets of 12 month birthstones each. Cons: It's SUPER cheap. We talk, it feels like plastic in the hands. "Crystals" feel like plastic. The chain we received was clearly broken in an odd (and obvious) place. The break was "repaired" with a simple piece of wire, which in no way corresponded to the material/optics of the chain. The wood inside also felt like cheap plastic - I could probably break it if I tried. Anyway, we gave it to my mother-in-law so that she could at least get something meaningful for Christmas. You could see the disappointment on her face as she examined the various aspects of the necklace. However, we did so with an apology and a promise to give her a better version sometime in the future if she wanted to. You may be wondering - why two stars? In principle, it is very beautiful - almost blinding. It was enough for my husband and I to give it an extra star. Otherwise it would have been one star for a very cheap and seemingly quick fix that would have taken very little extra time to add an extra link or just trim the extra chain length.
