The stove heats up very quickly. I've only used it for basic cooking, like eggs, so I like to use it for a main course. I will give an update on how well it is holding up but I am very happy with my purchase. Update 12/21/18: I've used the burner on many dishes since then with no problems. Heats up quickly and maintains temperature; Remember not to overcook or burn the food. It remains a great alternative to the stovetop burner. The purchase was worth it.
