I'm so tired of hearing people say that cables don't matter for sound quality, and while always knowing they were wrong. After testing the Fiio L17 cable on Cardas and Audioquest Tower, I found that they were VERY WRONG. Even with the humble Sansa Clip Jam, Aune B1 and Sennheiser HD558, the sound difference between all cables was absolute. Then I thought I could try connecting an Audioquest Big Sur mini to a mini with a better quality copper conductor and believe me, these cables showed a subtle beauty in my music that wasn't apparent before, even with an Audioquest Tower or evergreen. For music enjoyment, I would wish for nothing less than the Audioquest Big Sur. If you're on a budget, at least buy a budget Audioquest cable. Fiio cables are rubbish compared to Audioquest. ********** I ended up trying the next step, calling Sydney and now I'm back on Big Sur and keeping the Sydney cable. The Sydney has a significant bass boost and is very smooth and refined. I haven't tested the two cables side-by-side enough to uncover significant technical differences, but I like the overall sound of the Sydney cable better with my current system.
