We tried to wash the bed insert once because it stank a lot and it all fell apart.

The old version was more plush and thicker, kept its shape well. The new version is thin and not so fancy. This bed is also impossible to clean - you can't put it in the wash. You can remove the duvet cover but that's about it. We tried to wash the bed insert once because it was very smelly and the whole thing fell apart during the wash, FYI. But despite the fact that the new bed isn't that durable, dogs still love it. Yes, my chihuahuas are obsessed with this bed.
