*Update* Almost four years on this device and it's still saving lives. I was wondering if I still need to use it if one day the battery dies while I'm away. I went back to a totally stressed out dog trying to escape from his cage and destroying his cage. Drooling everywhere. The device does not allow him to induce a stress response by barking. Still the best $20 I've spent on an SA treatment. I wish it had an on/off switch but that's the only negative for me. My rescue dog has struggled with separation anxiety since she was adopted 2.5 years ago. We've worked with trainers, tried the Thunder shirt, used scents, drugs, music, the spoken word, and every other treatment for AS we could find. He had calmed down a bit but was still noisy when alone in the cage. Then something forced him a few weeks ago and he regressed so much that I was afraid he would hurt himself trying to escape. I bought it thinking that at $20 it was cheaper than anything I had tried. The first day I left him for 5 minutes and he was calm. I worked up to 10 minutes, 15 minutes etc. Today he was alone for 1.5 hours and the whole time he was calm. It was a huge breakthrough. He had never been so calm for so long. I would not say that this product alone can solve SA, you should use other methods as well. However, it was a great final piece of the puzzle that helped calm him down.
