I bought this plug in mirror because I didn't want to mess with changing batteries. I have a plug near where the mirror is installed and it works fine. The mirror has three light levels for different brightness. I use it on an area where part of the face has shadows and this is the solution to that problem. For assembly, only the mirror needs to be positioned, screwed on and plugged in. The mirror has different types of magnification: normal on one side and stronger on the other. Higher magnification is best for makeup application. After doing some research, I learned that the higher the magnification, the less you see your face, and that 10x magnification is too much. I found 7x just perfect. - Enough to see a close-up of your entire face without glasses. It's perfect for my use.
