There seems to be a lack of quality control where these lamps are made. 9 out of 10 had what appeared to be large balls of solder on top of the base. When comparing it next to an old Osram lamp, I also noticed that the top of the base is slightly flared on the CEC lamp, while the Osram base is not. This flash combined with a soldering iron prevented the bulb from fitting properly into my HVAC control knob without modification. Depending on your condition, you may want to consider a different option. However, if you decide to use them, the nice thing is that they come in a pack of 10. So if you screw up, you have a backup.
