I have two of these, one for each of my monitors. This size. One of the stressors of installation for me is having metal studs. I wasn't sure how much force the monitor arm would put on the screws, so wasn't sure what type of anchor I needed. I ended up using 3/16" tumbler screws, but in hindsight I think I could have got by with just self-tapping screws. The monitor arm's maximum extension is 17 inches, and the distance between the screws that hold it mount, is 5.5". This gives about a 3x ratio, which means (as I understand it) the torque applied to the top screw is 3x the weight of the monitor. My monitor weighs 10 pounds, so right now it should be 30 lb. A #10 self-tapping screw can withstand a breakout force of about 170 lbs, giving a wide margin of safety.
