Review on Asus VN279Q 1080p DisplayPort Monitor with 60Hz Refresh Rate for Improved SEO. by Joe Crawford

A good base monitor is hampered by poor base and neck assembly; No HDMI to HDMI cable included

Like most ASUS monitors, the VN279Q is a good mid-range 27-inch monitor that's great for basic computing and office work. However, two things are particularly disappointing about this model: ASUS monitors from the last decade, this one has the absolute worst base and neck construction, and it took me almost 20 minutes to fix it as best I could (other ASUS models need less than 30 seconds to assemble). attach to the neck of the monitor and the parts do not fit together. If you manage to align the base and neck, it will be difficult to twist them together because the "key" won't reach the mounting hole properly. Even if you manage to twist the base and neck, the neck still dangles from the base, which is very uncomfortable for a large and expensive monitor. Maybe I got a defective model, but I highly doubt it. 2) ASUS didn't bother to enable HDMI-to-HDMI with the monitor. The lack of an HDMI cable could be ignored if ASUS didn't put every other cable imaginable in the box. You've got a VGA cable, a DVI to HDMI cable, a DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable, an HDMI to Micro HDMI cable (at least I think so; it looked pretty weird), and a standard 3.5" audio cable. These cables can't include an HDMI-to-HDMI cable? Give me a break. Ultimately, the base and neck issue doesn't matter if you're using a VESA mount, and if you don't have an HDMI cable, it doesn't matter if you use a VGA or other cable, if you're a regular person who needs a simple base and neck assembly with an included HDMI to HDMI cable, look for another ASUS 27 inch monitor.
