It is not necessary to attach a screen protector. Simply align and attach to the top of the screen. It's so simple and easy to move it around to adjust it more precisely. As long as you are looking at the screen from the front, you will not see the film. However, if you look at the screen at an angle from the side, you will notice a slight light reflection where the foil meets the display. I don't look at the screen from the side, that's no problem for me. The magnetic part is thick and the display doesn't close completely, but you won't notice any functional problems either. But that may bother some people. If you attach the camera cover, it is not compatible. If you try to use it with film like I did, it gets even thicker. But it still works. Overall I like it and bought all four MacBooks for the whole family.
