Review on πŸ”’ 3M Gold Privacy Filter for 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display (2012-2015 Model) - GFNAP004 by Wayne Seba

Works as a workaround for a 2017 MacBook Pro

The 2017+ MacBook Pro has so little space between the keyboard and screen when closed that you can't even fit a piece of paper inside. I've been looking for a privacy screen for a long time, but quickly realized that I might not find it. I'm in a class of 190 students and I don't want everyone to see me browsing Reddit, texting my wife, or checking email during class, so I really wanted a privacy screen. Due to the thinness of the MacBook lately, don't allow a permanent fix to be posted, I figured I'd get something to remove. As it turns out, the testing requirements at my school don't allow face shields for students, so it worked out just fine. I saved the box and plastic wrap that the privacy screen came in and kept it in my backpack. I can pull the screen cover out and place it on the hinges and it covers the screen adequately. Only a tiny section is visible, but it's very, very small (where the camera frame is) and not big enough to show anything at all, not even a web address. reversible. You can also use the black side. Some people find that the gold side works best, while others find that the black side works best. Either way, it has an excellent viewing angle-to-privacy ratio. I can see the entire screen on my 15" MBP and the people sitting next to me can't see anything. Sure, people behind you can easily see what you're seeing, but that's the same with all privacy filters. I also get compliments on how cool it looks. The gold side is slightly reflective so I can see people behind me if I focus on it. It's not distracting and the black side is much less reflective. I give it a 5/5 for my use as it's not designed for 2017 and later laptops. However, it still works. as long as you don't mind putting it away between uses. As I said, I throw it in the original box when I put my computer away (this takes a few seconds). TL; DR: Great for removable privacy on a 2017+ MacBook Pro. Doesn't let the lid close when it's attached (hence it's removable). Double sided (gold and black sides work). Very satisfied with the product
