Great product especially for the price

, I have been a photographer for almost 50 years and have many shipping boxes full of prints with cut films and slides. I used to develop my own film and slides and spend far too many hours in the darkroom, burning and dodging my way to the elusive "perfect print". My wife gave me Photoshop for Christmas for a year and I've happily transitioned into the digital world. I've been away from active filming (30+ videos a month) and active digital filming (a few thousand pics a month) for a while now and I just shoot for fun, not for commercial purposes. However, I have all the old slides and films. So I bought this scanner to capture it digitally. I am very happy with the device. I am truly amazed that a device for less than $100 can scan and store images from even my oldest film and slides with minimal fuss. me two button presses and maybe 5-7 seconds of my time. Even at a fairly decent hourly rate (my work rate is usually paid at $50 an hour), the cost of a slide image is between $0.10 and $0.14, including unwrapping, scanning, packaging, etc. I could get close to that with a more automatic service and I don't have to give up my valuable pictures to have someone else scan them. Conclusion: A great little device, good value, easy to use and seems pretty solid at the moment. I would buy another in a heartbeat if this one is lost or died for any reason. It can't get much better.
