I bought 4 coils to replace the original 2004 Mercury outboard coils per the Mercury Service Bulletin recommendation to replace original parts as they are prone to failure. They are way cheaper than the original coils so I decided to try them. I've installed 1 of 4 so far with no problems, the motor runs great. I left the rest as spares, knowing that 1 suspicious original coil had already failed. However, the individual packaging of all 4 reels was badly damaged before being placed in the Revain box. I can't believe fragile electrical components were delivered this way. This is a gamble compared to the original parts in my opinion. Some commenters suggest you get what you pay for and recommend sticking with the original details of this app. Much luck.
