It seemed kind of meaningless. I already had four kids and this wasn't with them but I went ahead and got it for my 5th plus my boyfriend insisted. I am happy to report that this is *absolutely the most amazing EV.ER diaper changing tool*. The ointment is applied quickly and effectively. You can also run it over a (clean) diaper to remove excess ointment from it - instead of using a tissue as instructed. Especially if you don't want to waste a napkin. The spatula isn't too stiff and has a "give" that also helps apply the ointment, spreading it evenly in the creases of their cute little butts. In addition, there is no more ointment on the fingers and no more effort to close the diaper and not to get the ointment on other surfaces (baby legs, feet, couch, changing tablecloth, etc.). And if you have boys, you know that the moment you open their diaper there's a pee countdown, so this only speeds up the process by avoiding showing pee water tubes in everything else!
