I have had this pedometer for a little over a week. This is a great way to remind yourself how sedentary you can become when you spend long days at your desk with little time to move. It's also a good way to get an idea of how far you'll need to walk to get the recommended 10,000 steps a day (around 5 miles for the average person). So for me it's an awareness of being more active. I also plan to use it for hiking. Before purchasing this pedometer, I read many reviews and found that many of them are substandard and some have unexpected problems. I wanted to make sure I bought one that didn't have any limitations or design flaws and that this pedometer met those criteria. I realize that a lot of thought went into the development of this pedometer. Here's my take on the pros and cons. Cons====* The text next to the bottom display is very small, difficult for older eyes to read in dim light, but easy to remember (time, miles, kcal, extreme, total step count). I would imagine that every pedometer has this problem. Pros ==== * Easy to set up including stride length setting for mileage calculation * Lots of options (daily steps, time, miles, kcal, extime, total steps) * power saving mode to save battery life (comes with spare battery) * nice design, counts only real steps, so very accurate * Can be worn on a belt or in a pocket * Light, thin and small, but not too small. If you choose this pedometer, you will not be disappointed.
