Review on πŸ“· Canon EOS 5D 12.8 MP Digital SLR Camera (Body Only) - Perfect for Professional Photography by Anna Jonas ᠌

I didn't like it, I don't recommend buying.

The owner of a Canon 5D Mark 2 considered upgrading because technology advances constantly. There was a 5D Mark 2 on display in the storefront window until 2012, yet the price of a subscription to any of the nine glossy magazines that have appeared since then has not increased by more than $200. When deciding between the Canon 5D Mark 4 and 5D Mark 2, I leased this camera for $1,750 for a day before making a purchase. The Canon RP was another camera I compared the 5D Mark 2 to, and it came up short by a just two points. However, it's not just that the only professional cameras offered by Canon are the 5D and the 1D, and that the Mark 2 are labeled "For an amateur"; I also saw that in order to upgrade the camera, I'll have to continue using the one I have. I was thrilled to get my hands on a 5D Mark 4, and when my friend and I both had our Sigma Art 35mm 1.4 f2.0, iso 100 A f1.4 lenses, we proceeded to shoot head-on. When I got home, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the 5D Mark 2 took significantly better images than the 5D Mark 4. There are a lot of cool new electronic chips in the form of a screen in the 5D Mark 4, but I personally don't see any reason to upgrade from the 5D Mark 2. Canon is apparently suggesting that, if you want to improve the quality, you should now take a closer look at the 1D X.

Pros
  • Capture images by touching the screen and adjusting the focus manually.
Cons
  • The matrix is just as bad, if not worse, than the Canon 5D Mark 2 2012.
